A world-first Australian event delving into the emerging space of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) is being held online this Thursday, September 30.
NFT Fest features more than 45 speakers from across Australia and the world with a range of panel discussions and debates about developing and delivering NFT technology solutions and the potential for startups, marketplaces and games.
NFT Fest co-founder Greg Oakford, who said he had a “lightbulb moment” about NFTs about 10 months ago, has organised the deep dive into the sector with Richelle Cox.
Blockchain Australia is backing NFT Fest 2021, which is free for everyone. CEO Steve Vallas Blockchain Australia said the development of NFT projects across Australia and the world is occurring at an extraordinary pace.
“Digital value is being recognised in a way never seen before. We’re seeing the music, sports and gaming industries all set to be transformed. NFTFest offers you a front row seat at the beginning of it all all,” he said.
Oakford said NFT’S are the hottest topic in blockchain and the festival is all about tapping into the buzz around the impact of NFT tech on artists, musicians and athletes, and for those unfamiliar with the sector, offers a chance find out what it’s about, where it’s at and gain insights into where it’s all going.
“NFT Fest brings together those building, incubating and investing time and money into the sector,” he said.
“It will stream live and free across Australia and the globe, so tune in for an open community event.”
The range of speakers includes Senator Andrew Bragg, investor Mark Carnegie, BTC Markets CEO Caroline Bowler, AFL head of communications David Elliot, futurist Steve Sammartino, Non-fungible.com co-founder Gauthier Zuppinger, Immutable’s Derek Lau, game lead for Guild of Guardians; Austrade services and technology manager Susan Corbisiero, World of Women creator Yam Karkai, Reinventure co-founder Simon Cant and Airtree Ventures partner John Henderson.
