Jaz Wearin isn’t new to brewing beer, but when she was pregnant and craved a cold one, she couldn’t find a non-alcoholic beer she enjoyed.
So she decided to solve her own problem and make one.
Jaz is already a craft brewing veteran, having co-founded Sydney’s Modus Operandi Brewing in 2014 with her husband Grant.
Now the country-raised mother has another baby alongside a toddler: the new non-alcoholic beer brand NORT.
Nort Refreshing Ale is zero alcohol, is low carb has only 49 calories a bottle and plenty of taste, with a fruity aroma and crisp finish.
When lockdown hit and people began to give things a bit of a nudge, her idea took on even greater importance and she teamed up with Sally Muntz, who was also raised in the NSW Riverina region, to develop Nort as a 100% Aussie-owned and brewed beer that also had 110% flavour of a refreshing ale, launching in September this year.
And when Jaz heard that Amazon Australia had launched a Wine, Beer and Spirits store earlier this year, she decided to use Fulfilment by Amazon to get her great tasting beer in the hands of more people across Australia.
And of course if things heat up and you need more than one, the great thing about Nort is you can have a second and third without having to worry about your health and calories.
“If you’re looking for a Christmas without the hangover, with all the flavour, without the fuzzies, grab a Nort,” Jaz says.
Over 12 days in the lead up to Christmas, we’ll be sharing the stories of great Australians startups selling on Amazon Australia, told by their founders.
Here is Jaz’s story. Happy holidays to all.
