Finder finally has a new local leader following an 18-month hunt by the comparison site’s co-founders and global co-CEOs Fred Schebesta and Frank Restuccia, with ViacomCBS exec Chris Ellis taking on the newly created role of CEO of Finder Australia.

English-born Ellis departed  ViacomCBS, owners of the Ten TV network, as VP of Commercial and Business Development, and co-founded startup cloud management tool GorillaStack. His CV also includes senior roles with MySpace and AOL. His Finder role begins immediately.

With the co-founders focused on global expansion and Schebesta exploring cryptocurrency and open data, Ellis said his priority was to enable Finder to build on their success to scale up operations in a disciplined way, with a focus on deepening existing and building new partnerships.

“Finder has enormous potential, particularly as technology and Open Banking evolves and creates new opportunities,” Ellis said.

“We have a terrific foundation – our brand has never been stronger or more relevant. Our pipeline of new products and innovation has never been more robust – the recent App launch being a recent example.”

Restuccia said Ellis’s passion for digital business and entrepreneurial drive made him the stand out candidate.

The Finder co-founder said all 450-plus global members of the company have been working from home since March 16.
