Canva co-founders Cliff Obrecht, Melanie Perkins and Cameron Adams will talk about what it takes to scale a company from a living room concept to a global $40 billion company, at the company’s free digital event, Canva Create, tomorrow.

Canva Create runs November 16-17, and has a special focus on startups as part of the two day program.

The trio will host the session, Lessons Learnt Building Canva on Tuesday, November 16, sharing practical advice for aspiring entrepreneurs. They plan to share the most important and impactful lessons they’ve learned along the way to building the world’s most valuable private software company, as well as taking questions in a live Q&A.

Both days run from 10.50am to 2pm and focus on design, education, and non-profits as well as startups

Perkins kicks off the Canva for Startups program with “The Art of the Pitch” to help budding founders build the skills to nail their presentation for a funding round or rally the team around a new idea.

The trio’s chat on building Canva is a 12:40pm before Adams, Canva’s chief product officer, presents Build a Strong Brand to Achieve your Big Goals at 1:10pm.

He’ll dissect what makes a strong brand and show you how you can embrace the power of visual communication to stand out and build affinity and loyalty with your key audiences.

Canva’s Head of Social Impact, Robyn King, will kick off the Canva for Non Profits section on day two with a session titled “Creating Powerful Change – Campaigns to inspire action”. She’ll highlight examples of campaigns that have moved the needle, breaking down the key ingredients to success before teaching you how to create your own campaigns for change, covering branding, print collateral and video.
