Tech incubator Stone & Chalk will run a program to help Victorians break into the tech and startup sectors thanks to funding from the government’s startup vehicle, LaunchVic.
Pivott Victoria is an 18-month program designed for people seeking with the skills, mindset and tools needed for a career in the startup sector. It will also include a skills and jobs matching portal, career-focused events and workshops, an e-learning course designed to prepare participants to navigate working in a startup, and a mentorship program.
The program is for everyone in the state and launch later this year. It is designed to be a one-stop-shop for people to successfully seek out roles at the best new companies in Australia.
Stone & Chalk CEO Alex Scandurra said the wanted to help Victorians on the pathway to success in startups
“By leveraging Stone & Chalk’s network of startups, scale-ups and partners, we’re able to bring a solution that addresses startups’ talent challenges by matching them with relevant job-seekers in order to contribute to our fast-growing innovation ecosystem,” he said.
LaunchVic CEO Dr Kate Cornick said startups need the right talent as the sector grows in the state.
“Stone & Chalk’s Pivott program will help talented Victorians upskill and make the connections they need to get a job at a startup or scaleup,” she said.
