Volunteer and workforce management platform Rosterfy has raised $5.5 million from Sydney VC OIF Ventures.

The funding tops up aa $3m follow on investment from ASX-listed Bailador Technology Investments (ASX:BTI) after its $9.8m initial investment in April 2023, which Startup Daily reported in October last year,

The $3m from Bailador resulted in a 14% ($1.7m) uplift to the valuation of the VC’s existing $12.4m investment to $17.1m

Rosterfy provides volunteer and workforce management software to not-for-profit (NFP) organisations, government volunteering bodies, sporting federations and large-scale events, enabling communities to connect to events and causes they are passionate about.

The SaaS platform allows organisations to automate their end-to-end volunteer management, spanning recruitment, screening and training, through to scheduling, rewarding and reporting, halving the time and cost of manual processes.

Rosterfy is used by a range of leading community organisations, including Lifeline Australia, the Salvation Army UK, Cancer Council Queensland, the Greater London Authority (City of London), and Brisbane City Council.

Major sport and community events, including the US Superbowl, the Formula 1 Grand Prix and SXSW are also clients. At today’s  Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans, Rosterfy will support the host city to manage around 7,000 volunteers across over 13,000 shifts.

The platform has now been used to manage more than 3 million volunteers in 35 countries.

Rosterfy was founded in 2015 by Bennett Merriman, Shannan Gove, and Chris Grant, who experienced the challenge of managing volunteers first-hand while running an events management business.

Merriman, the CEO, said they excited to welcome OIF Ventures as a key investor.

“Their experience supporting high-growth  technology businesses aligns perfectly with our vision to scale and enhance our platform,” he said.

“This partnership will enable us to accelerate innovation and bring greater value to our  clients worldwide, which hopefully means more people volunteering and in turn, better  connected communities.”

OIF Ventures partner Kevin Wilson said: “Rosterfy is the clear leading solution in volunteer management software globally, delivering significant cost and time savings to  sporting organisations and not for profits.”
