BNPL Zip just cut Latitude’s lunch at Harvey Norman

ASX-listed buy-now-pay-later fintech Zip Co. is moving into territory recently claimed by rival Latitude Pay, announcing it will offer it Zip BNPL product at Harvey Norman, Domayne and Joyce Mayne franchisee stores.

Co-founder and COO Peter Gray said the partnership delivers on Zip’s strategic vision.

“We are thrilled to partner with such iconic brands. We look forward to providing customers with additional choice and better ways to pay as they ‘Shop with Confidence’ at Harvey Norman, Domayne, and Joyce Mayne,” he said.

The move comes just 15 months after Latitude struck a deal in September 2019 with the three brands to offer BNPL and other interest free repayment products via a Latitude GO Mastercard.

The upside for Latitude, which recently signed a five-year extension on its big ticket interest free with Harvey Norman, is that Zip plays in the smaller item – under $1000 – sales area, with LatitudePay also operating as a BNPL at the retailer.
