The open balcony at level 53 of Salesforce Tower Sydney, is not for the faint-hearted, but it gives a choice between whether the views or being around 230 metres above CBD’s streets taking your breath away.
But you don’t have to go out there among the planter boxes of box proteas and kangaroo paws to be blown away by sweeping panoramas of the city as far as the eye can see.
And the most amazing thing about it is that Salesforce is making its ‘Ohana Floors at the top of Salesforce Tower Sydney, the city’s second tallest building, available for use by Australian not-for-profit and community organisations to host fundraisers, receptions, and special events.
The ‘Ohana Floors – Ohana is Hawaiian for family – offer 360-degree views overlooking the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Opera House, and west to the Blue Mountains on the 51st, 52nd, and 53rd floors .
Salesforce ANZ general manager Frank Fillmann said that the charity support the Sydney office offers us part of a global company initiative offering event spaces at the top of Salesforce towers to not-for-profits and foundations aligned with the company’s culture of giving back. Since launched in Australia and New Zealand 20 years ago, Salesforce has contributed more than $17 million in grants and donations and 384,000 volunteering hours to their community.
“At Salesforce, we believe that business is the greatest platform for change. Our ‘Ohana Floors globally have become collaborative community hubs, dedicated to fostering innovation, collaboration, and positive change. In Salesforce Tower Sydney, they are a physical representation of our commitment to equality and our community here in Australia,” he said.
“I can’t wait to see the amazing events and fundraising outcomes not-for-profits deliver in this space. I’m especially excited to participate in STEPtember with the Cerebral Palsy Alliance.”
The Cerebral Palsy Alliance (CPA) local not-for-profit organisations that’s already used the Ohana Floors facilities, hosting three events over the last year to commemorate both their STEPtember campaign and support their research foundation.
(Incidentally, Pete Horsely, founder of the CPA-backed disability tech accelerator Remarkable, is currently taking part in STEPtember. You can sponsor him here.)
CPA GM of fundraising Lucy Jacka said the support from Salesforce boosted their efforts and impact.
“While we’ve already hosted more than 150 guests in other spaces at the Salesforce Tower in the last year, we’re looking forward to making use of the ‘Ohana Floors to offer our community of volunteers and supporters a unique experience in the heart of the Sydney CBD,” she said.
The ‘Ohana Floors are suitable for receptions, galas, and fireside chats for up to 100 guests and feature flexible collaboration spaces, a barista bar, an exhibition kitchen. and dining area. They were officially opened last week by the assistant minister for competition, charities and treasury, Dr Andrew Leigh.
