As I reflect on the journey we’ve taken with Climate Salad, it’s with a mix of excitement and responsibility that I share a significant update about our next steps.
Starting in 2025, Climate Salad will scale back to a more streamlined model — an online community, newsletters, and webinars, largely managed by me, part-time.
This shift isn’t the end of our mission, but rather a reflection of the evolving needs of the Australian climate tech community and a strategic choice to focus on where we can have the greatest long-term impact.
Since our launch, Climate Salad has grown into a network of over 600 climate tech companies, 1,000 members, and 10,000 supporters, all working toward the critical goal of solving global climate problems.
We’ve celebrated massive milestones, supported game-changing startups, and fostered collaboration across Australia and beyond. Now, the climate tech sector is growing faster than ever, and we believe that focusing on core community-driven elements will keep this momentum going, allowing companies to connect, share, and scale.
We’re not going anywhere—our passion remains as strong as ever, and we’ll continue to champion climate tech innovation.
What I’ve learned is that success in the climate space isn’t just about rapid growth or large events—it’s about consistency, collaboration, and incremental progress.
We’ve coined the term “convergent cumulative exponential improvement” to capture this concept: many small innovations coming together to drive big change. Climate Salad will continue to foster these connections and support startups through our leaner, volunteer-driven model.
The decision to evolve the structure of Climate Salad was not made lightly. We’ve been fortunate to have incredible corporate partners, government support, and an engaged membership base, and we’ll continue to work closely with them.
But as the climate tech landscape matures, we see that the best way we can serve this growing ecosystem is by focusing on the digital platforms and networks that have always been at the heart of what we do.
Climate tech is moving fast, and there’s never been a more critical time for Australian companies to scale and make a global impact. With Climate Salad 2025, we’ll be here to support that growth, offering the tools and community connections to help companies succeed in this essential work.
Thank you to everyone, especially the hard working team and those that have provided us critical financial support, who have been part of this journey so far.
I look forward to continuing it with you as we all work together to solve the climate challenges of tomorrow.
