Brisbane’s RiverPitch Live is coming to Sydney with investors looking for startups

Brisbane’s RiverPitch Live – think Shark Tank livestreamed – is coming to Sydney next month and is seeking startups to take part.

The series, run by River City Labs, had up to 15 startups take part in each RiverPitch Brisbane Live event before a live audience of more than 100 people, including especially screened high-profile investors. Last year’s two-pitch series helped eight startup teams land funding.

Now City Labs Group CEO Peta Ellis is hoping to repeat that success with RiverPitch Live – Sydney on June 27 at the Sydney Startup Hub.

“The Sydney Startup scene is developing each year and events like RiverPitch will fast-track progress even further,” she said.

“With the recent launch of [sister brand] Harbour City Labs in Sydney it is a great time for us to introduce to the startup scene in Sydney, our popular RiverPitch Live event that we launched seven years ago in Brisbane.

Ellis said they’re looking for startups and scale-ups with  strong ambitions to grow quickly, and seeking investment to become both nationally and globally relevant companies.

“RiverPitch Live Sydney 2019 will assist founders to connect and develop relationships with an elite high-profile community of investors that have had an ongoing and reputable tie with our organisation,” she said.
