Atlassian has bought US helpdesk startup Halp.
The Nasdaq-listed Sydney tech giant, best know for the Jira, Trello and Confluence platforms, acquired the three-year-old venture, which operates in Slack, delivering help desk ticketing and automated answers, for an undisclosed sum,
Steve Goldsmith, Head of Product, Integrations, at Altassian, said in the company’s announcement that Halp turns Slack into an internal help desk solution for any team that fields questions via workplace messaging, such as IT, security, legal, finance, and support.
“Once you add Halp to your Slack workspace, you can use a simple emoji reaction to turn any message into a ticket that tracks the progress and outcomes of inbound requests,” he said.
“It’s an easy, lightweight way to manage requests that gives users the option to configure a custom workflow underneath it, or simply use the default. Either way, Halp ensures requests are routed correctly and facilitates prompt resolution right there in Slack.”
It’s a surprisingly early exit for the Colorado-based startup, which only launched it platform just over 12 months ago and today announced the launch of Halp Answers.
The startup counts Adobe, Home Depot, Strava, GitHub, ClassPass, and internal teams at Slack among its customers. Halp’s investors include Matchstick Ventures, Slack and Techstars, having raised US$2 million in April last year for a US$9.5 million post valuation.
Announcing the sale on its site, Halp wrote: “We’ll be able to harness the vast resources at Atlassian to continue with our mission to make Halp the best tool for any team collaborating on requests with other teams. Our team will grow and be able to focus on making the core experience of Halp even more powerful. We’ll also develop a deeper integration with the Atlassian suite — improving our existing Jira and Confluence integrations and discovering the possibilities of Halp generating alerts in Opsgenie, cards in Trello, and much more.”
Goldsmith said Atlassian is committed to supporting Microsoft Teams customers with Halp as well.
