Startups tackling issues ranging from being able to settle on Mars to recycling EV batteries and helping entrepreneurs with ADHD to maintain their focus are among seven ideas to emerge from the 2024 cohort of the Australia and New Zealand Founder Institute accelerator program.

The local chapter of the world’s largest pre-seed startup accelerator, led by Right Click Capital partner Benjamin Chong and Paul Krajewski oversaw an intense four months of aggressive business-building sprints, constant evaluation, and feedback from investors and mentors that led to just seven startups making the cut after being vetted and supported by a panel of dozens of  ANZ’s top startup experts and investors.

The early-stage entrepreneurs and their teams build the business alongside a critical support network from those experts who share equity in their success.

Founder Institute accelerator alumni across more than 200 cities globally have raised more than $1.85 billion.

After completing the program, the ANZ Founder Institute portfolio companies have access to the Founder Institute’s global network and post-graduate support programs to continue building their startups.

The companies selected in 2024 are:

  • SkillCef by Intellikraft solutions, which is building an AI-powered skills assessment and course discovery engine that identifies knowledge gaps, delivers personalised learning paths, and awards industry-recognised certifications to boost employability.
  • Scholar Spark, which is creating an AI-powered platform that revolutionises structured literature reviews, enabling researchers to conduct comprehensive studies faster and accelerate scientific discovery and innovation.
  • Accountability Squad, which is a community-driven platform that empowers developers to achieve their personal and professional goals through structured accountability groups, tailored goal tracking, and peer support.
  • Oscorp Energy, which is developing sustainable lithium-ion battery recycling solutions for the electric vehicle and electronics industries, addressing the urgent need to manage battery waste while recovering valuable materials.
  • Mareekh Dynamics, which is space technology startup developing habitation systems for permanent human settlement on Mars, with promising applications for treating altitude sickness in the health industry on Earth.
  • Co-Linic AI, which is streamlining non-clinical tasks for allied health therapists with a customisable AI-driven solution, accessible as both a Microsoft Word plug-in and SaaS platform, allowing therapists to focus more on patient care and reduce wait times.
  • Divergity, which is building an online platform that helps ADHD entrepreneurs learn more effectively and manage tasks to achieve real progress in their businesses.

You can hear more about then at the Founder Institute Demo Day on November 5.
