Thanks to the internet, we are living in an age where there is almost no chore that can’t be outsourced to someone on the internet, no matter how boring – from lawn mowing to kitchen cleaning to doing laundry, someone will be willing to do it for some extra cash. Though Airtasker and Gumtree seem to have the task outsourcing market sewn up, a Perth entrepreneur has launched a new platform called Buzzy.
This morning Freelancer made an announcement to the ASX that it has acquired the assets of Donanza, a similar services marketplace based out of Israel.
So, how would we go about selecting an outsourcing partner for ourselves were we in the shoes of a technology business that doesn’t have too much money to burn, but is poised for action for the fear of getting into a dodgy arrangement with an out-of-the-country outfit, unable to deliver as expected?
Exploitive wages, poor quality and time-wasting nightmares are all common words people use to use to describe online outsourcing; and whilst dealing with outside service providers will inevitably bring about its challenges, the continual evolution of outsourcing technology has re-invented the concept.
