As the Australian games development industry goes from strength to strength, Girl Geek Academy has announced the launch of an all-woman game making hackathon, SheHacksGames.
A survey of Australian game developers found the industry generated $118.5 million in the 2016-17 financial year, up from $114.9 million the previous year, with 75 percent of studios surveyed projecting future growth.
The South Australian government has launched a $2 million fund to help build a games development hub in Adelaide, which will be operated by Game Plus, which also runs a games hub in Canberra.
