The state government has committed to ensuring that a minimum of 10 percent of new government fleet vehicles are electric or hybrid from 2020.
The NSW Government is set to allocate $10 million funding over the next four years to the expansion of trials of autonomous vehicles.
An industry-based test group of users will be able to use the app on their Android phones, with their smartphone’s near field communication (NFC) function integrating with existing Myki ticket barriers and card readers.
On-road trials of autonomous vehicles will run on motorways including the Lane Cove Tunnel, the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the M5, and the Eastern Distributor.
Joining forces with the Sydney Olympic Park Authority, the government plans to conduct a trial of the state’s first automated Smart Shuttle at Olympic Park.
