When Christopher Mathews saw his daughter slathered in sunscreen after arriving home from daycare, he was concerned about the possible chemicals her young skin was absorbing.

So he decided to develop an alternative and spent months experimenting with natural formulas until he came up with a skin-nourishing sunscreen.

Mathews decided to call it Little Urchin, after a sea creature that creates its own sunscreen to protect its young, launching his startup in four years ago.

As he sought to scale the business, he decided to sell his products on Amazon Australia.

Christopher Mathews joined us recently on the Startup Daily show on ausbiz to tell us more about his journey as a founder. You can watch the clip below.
