Released yesterday, the new podcast Hutong (Ad)Ventures is providing listeners with Chinese market wisdom from venture capital investors, founders, and operators who are sharing their real China experiences.

The podcast is an initiative of Haymarket HQ –  Australia’s first coworking space for startups and scaleups with ambitions to crack the Asian markets. It is hosted by Tripalocal cofounder and CEO, Jemma Xu.

In this first episode Xu sits down with David Gulasi, an Australian who has lived in China for nearly 10 years, who also happens to be one of China’s top three foreign online influencers, with over eight million Chinese followers across his various Chinese social platforms.

As an online celebrity, David has worked with brands such as Volkswagen, Netease, Sony, and Chinese dating app Momo, just to name a few. David also runs his own successful education company, New World Language School in Hohhot, preparing Chinese students for standardised English tests such as the IELTS and TOEFL.
