From robotic insects solving the problem of food waste to an AI game-changer for the hearing impaired, the 2024 Startup Daily Best in Tech Awards celebrated the impact, innovation and diversity of Australia’s extraordinary startup ecosystem.
More than 270 guests gathered at a gala dinner at Sydney’s Ivy Ballroom on September 4 to recognise the startup, scaleups, founders, investors and industry champions who are proving just why we’re such a force to be reckoned with, both locally and on a global stage.
It was the second year of the 2024 Startup Daily Best in Tech Awards, which scaled in both size and impact. Going from 10 to 15 awards, this year’s ceremony added new awards for AI Gamechanger, Future Leader of the Year, Startup Investor of the Year, Startup Event of the Year and The GSD Award (for getting insert expletive here done).
Big winners on the night included fraud detection fintech Fortiro taking home Startup of the Year, employee management unicorn Deputy crowned Scaleup of the Year and The Startup Network’s Vicki Stirling named Industry Champion.
Watch all the highlights from the night in the video below. Look out for some inspirational words from our keynote speaker, ‘Queen of Startups’ Maria MacNamara, former CEO of the Space Industry Association of Australia (among many, many major career achievements).
Startup Daily would like to thank our major partner for the awards for a second year running, AWS Startups. We’d also like to thank award sponsors Tank Stream Labs and the S2S Summit, ACS Labs, StartxLabs, x15ventures, Firemark Ventures, Airwallex and Vanta. Thank you to our community partners Antler, Spark Festival and DayOne.
And of course, thank you to everyone who celebrated with us. We can’t wait to do it all again next year.
