KPMG Australia and Advance announce 2016 elevate61 accelerator intake

- February 23, 2016 2 MIN READ

Innovation network Advance and KPMG Australia have named the startups taking part in this year’s elevate61 accelerator program, designed to help participants fast track their growth into the US.

The 11 startups, or rather scaleups, have achieved a combined turnover of over $25 million in the past 12 months, and span various industries, from logistics to fintech and hospitality.

James Mabbot, head of KPMG Innovate, said that the quality of the businesses uncovered during the application process showed “there has never been a more exciting time to be an Australian enterprise tech startup.”

“The successes these entrepreneurs are achieving demonstrates the potential of Australia’s startup eco-system to compete on the global stage. By up skilling these proven businesses and entrepreneurs, and accelerating their understanding of the US market, elevate61 hopes to empower the next generation of global Australian leaders,” he said.

The program will see the startups paired with industry mentors from both Advance and KPMG’s global networks. With an eye on the US, the participants will partake in a series of intensive workshops focused on how to approach the US markets before a 10 day trip to San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York in May.
