Perhaps the best reaction amid a million takes on Elon Musk’s Twitter takeover this week was employee Ned Miles, who tweeted “Can someone just tell me if I’m rich or fired please”. We discuss some of the concerns around the Technoking of Telsa ruling the town square.

Then there’s the Bored Ape Yacht Club Instragram hack that saw millions of dollars worth of NFTs stolen.

On the show this week, we spoke to Western Sydney Vice-Chancellor Professor Barney Glover about the role unis play in the startup ecosystem in the wake of a new report that puts NSW at the forefront of the tech and innovation sector nationally.

Speaking of NFTs, Vivid Sydney curator Lucy Keeler has co-founded an online Australian contemporary art gallery exhibiting curated NFTs with artists such as Archibald Prize winner Wendy Sharpe stepping into the digital realm for the first time.

Meanwhile, crypto is a double-edged sword in Russia’s war in Ukraine, and Janine Grange from Crypto Easy looked at the upsides and downsides and who’s responsible for policy when it comes to a response and sanctions.

But Twitter became the news and we spoke to Lewis Mitchell, Professor of Data Science, at University of Adelaide, about why adding an edit button to the platform is not as easy as you think and the potential for malicious actors to exploit it.

And Startup Daily regular Gavin Appel from Ignition Lane also shared his thoughts on living with disruption when a billionaire makes an offer too good to refuse for your tech company.
