Christopher Mathews decided to launch his startup when his daughter came home from day care coated in a thick layer of sunscreen.
He decided to make something that was all natural, without the chemicals that cause problems for some people and spent six months experimenting with different formulas in his kitchen and even got sunburned testing them along the way
When he got it right, Chris decided to call his skin-nourishing sunscreen Little Urchin, after a sea creature that creates its own sunscreen to protect its young.
Little Urchin launched in November 2016, and in 2017, he decided to sell on Amazon Australia.
Over the next 12 days in the lead up to Christmas, we’ll be sharing the stories of great Australians startups selling on Amazon Australia, told by the founders.
