Australian design company Canva wants to spread the love on New Year’s Eve and has launched a program to send positive messages to people around the world as the clock strikes midnight.

The Canva #OnAGoodNote New Years Eve challenge is inviting people share messages of hope, inspiration, and kindness using Canva designs.

It’s an online version of ‘Secret Santa’, taken to the next level, and everyone who writes a note will also receive one.

Already people such as Guy Kawasaki, David Koch and Shannon Noll have submitted cards, so you never know who you might hear from.

You can join the #OnAGoodNote challenge by logging onto Canva – it’s free – to design and write a note for a stranger on the other side of the world.

Here’s an explanation of how it works.

You don’t have be a design guru – simply pick your favorite template Canva’s new collection of New Years cards, write your message, customise it however you like and submit the card.

When the clock strikes 12 on New Years Eve, Canva will send them out to a randomly matched stranger who’ll share their own note with you.
