- August 20, 2020 < 1 MIN READ
Entries for Amazon Launchpad Innovation Grants, worth $80,000 each are closing this Monday, August 24, at 11.59pm.

With just a few days left for startups and SMEs looking to innovate their businesses to apply – there are five grant packages all up – Chadd Ciccarelli, Head of Launchpad at Amazon Australia said they’d already received more than 450 entries, from honey-based babywipes, to biodegradable clingwrap, and portable touchscreens, in a response that had “exceeded all expectations”.

Amazon Launchpad has recruited Carl Hartmann, serial entrepreneur and co-founder of non-alcoholic company Lyre’s Non-Alcoholic Spirits; and Renae Smith of healthy baking goods brand, Bake Mixes, to help judge the Amazon Launchpad Innovation Grant recipients.

Appearing on the Startup Daily show this week Chadd said the judges will be looking for “brands that are building a community not a commodity”.

Each package is worth more than $80,000 and includes a $20,000 cash grant, Amazon marketing support, AWS Activate credits, and exclusive access to mentors such as Amazon leadership and entrepreneur experts from Australia and HQ in Seattle; time with successful e-commerce savvy Australian SMBs; and insights from angel investors in the venture capital community.

Applications can be found at Amazon.com.au/launchpad.

The five grant recipients will be announced in September 2020.
