- April 20, 2020 < 1 MIN READ
Startmate’s  highly anticipated Demo Day won’t be stopped by coronavirus and social distancing, and will go ahead this Wednesday, April 22, as an online stream, with 11 startups pitching for investment before a digital audience.

The Startmate Demo Day Reimagined will be live and interactive with viewers able to ask questions and gain background information on each company. It will be held from 6pm to 8pm on April 22.

The Demo Day features 11 companies in the Sydney 2020 cohort of Startmate’s 3-month long accelerator program and for the first time four of the startups are specifically climate-focused as part of Startmate’s first climate accelerator.

The startups range from one using technology to turn food waste into animal feed and water waste into electricity, to 3D printed prosthetics and an AI bot that teaches conversational English.

Startmate invested $75,000 in each of the 11 companies in January 2020,

Startmate CEO Michael Batko said the Sydney 2020 cohort has a breadth of innovation seeking investors.

“The companies coming out of this program are solving the problems of now and tomorrow. It’s a rich and diverse group of founders working across sectors including manufacturing, agriculture, education and software that assists people to live better lives,” he said.

The Startmate Demo Day Reimagined this Wednesday is free to view, but you need to register for it with Eventbrite here.
