G’day.
It’s been my absolute privilege to edit Startup Daily since July last year and I hope you’re enjoying it too.
Personally, I can’t think of anything more exciting to write about in Australian business and society right now than the startup and tech sectors, from MCB’s battles and initiatives in climate policy to fintech, the blessing (yep, that’s the collective noun!) of unicorns, the incredible innovations in agtech and medtech, to federal policy, investment and inspiration to get you to the next level.
And while I’m starting to think I’ve got a bit of a handle on things, the one thing I’ve learnt in more than 25 years in journalism is that a lot of the time, your readers are smarter than you.
You’re also busy, so my job is to point out what you want and need to know, and to paraphrase Steve Jobs, the stuff you didn’t know you needed to know.
But to do that I need your help and I need about 10 minutes of your time.
We’ve put together an audience survey we’re hoping you’d be kind enough to fill in to help give us some direction on what you want to read, hear and see.
One of the exciting developments you’ll see in the next few weeks is the launch of a new business and finance streaming service, Ausbiz, with a daily 15 segment featuring Startup Daily and a roundup of the latest news. Ausbiz launches on March 30 and you’ll be able to watch it for free.
Meanwhile, we’re about to crank up our podcasts with two series, The Problem Solved, talking to founders about their business, and The Helicopter View, which takes a big picture view of various sectors and aspects of the startup and tech ecosystems. Then of course we have our website, and regular features such as the daily 5 Things column, coverage on raises, advice, and much more.
But like you, we can only cover so much ground in a day, and we’re keen to hear from you about where we should be placing our efforts.
So click on the link below, let us know and help make Startup Daily even better and more useful for you – a sort of Maximum Viable Product.
Thanks heaps and thanks for reading.
Simon.
