Venue booking platforms Spare Workspace and Venuemob have merged

- December 2, 2019 < 1 MIN READ
Venue booking startups Spare Workspace and Venuemob have merged to create a wide-ranging event, meeting and training space booking platform. The new venture will be known as Spare Group.

Spare Workspace was launched in 2015 by Jake Dimarco (pictured above) for businesses to book meeting and training spaces online, with around 2000 spaces available by the hour or day. Events site Venuemob has been around since 2012 and offers 4000 sites. Together, they’ve handled more than $300 million worth of enquiries.

Now Group CEO, Dimarco said the merger will make them the No 1 online platform in Australia to find and book event and meeting spaces.

“We’ve taken a difficult and time-consuming task and made it super simple,” he said.

“I couldn’t be more excited to join forces with Venuemob and offer our customers a wider range of venues to meet all their needs. Customers won’t need to look anywhere else.”

Dimarco said the merged company will maintain both brands into 2020.

“We will continue to innovate and transform how customers discover and book their events and meetings around Australia,” he said.

“We expect our growth to be exponential across both businesses. Watch this space.”
