Come find your dream job at Career Hack, Sydney’s tech recruitment fair

If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to work for an Australia tech unicorn such as design site Canva and fintech leader Afterpay, your chance to ask the person in charge comes up next Wednesday, October 23, at Career Hack: Australia’s Tech Recruitment Fair, in Sydney.

The expo will feature dozens of leading Australian tech startups, and their recruiters, including for Airtasker, Safety Culture, Athena, Deputy, Employment Hero, Zip Money and many more.

Career Hack is part of the Spark Festival and is being organised by Zambesi.com in conjunction with the ACS and Startup Daily.

It will be held at the Sydney Startup Hub, Level 1, 11 York St, Sydney, October 23, 6pm-8.30pm. Tickets to attend are $12.50, available from Eventbrite here.

Zambesi co-founder Rebekah Campbell said finding the right talent is one of the toughest challenges of building a fast-growing company.

“Amazing companies still struggle to great people,” she said.

“We’ve created this event to bring amazing talent and amazing companies together so that everyone can grow faster.”

Campbell said many of the people who come to Zambesi workshops are working in large corporates and want to take a leap into a business where they can have impact, but they aren’t sure how to find the right opportunity.

Career Hack is her solution.

Employment Hero, the cloud-based human resource (HRM) management software startup, raised $22 million recently, including from the country’s biggest employment website, SEEK, and is now worth more than $100 million.

Employment Hero marketing manager Julia Merrick said the five-year-old business is growing rapidly and always on the lookout for the best talent.

“We’re so excited to be attending Career Hack alongside some of Australia’s standout startups and look forward to connecting with a new calibre of candidates,” she said.

Career Hack will give potential employees the chance to both quiz the company execs about their culture as well as pitching their own talents.

You’ll also learn what it’s like to work at these companies, what kind of talent they’re looking for and how to stand out in the recruitment process.

There’ll be short pitches from the companies, followed by the opportunity to meet and network with the recruiters.
