Innovation Bay co-founder Ian Gardiner thinks Adelaide “has become one of Australia’s hotspots of startup activity” and is heading there in November to host a Startup Showcase at Lot Fourteen.

The showcase, based on Innovation Bay’s ‘Founder Dinner’ format, gives 16 selected startups the chance to present their ideas and build relationships with investors and decision-makers who may fund them down the track. The pitch event, on November 19, is followed by a networking dinner at culinary hotspot Africola.

The Innovation Bay pitch event is being held in conjunction with _southstart, the eight-day emerging technology festival and conference, November 15-22, and just ahead of _southstart [conference], November 21-22.

_southstart event director, Craig Swann, said they were on the hunt for Australia’s best tech startups to pitch to an audience of local and national angel investors and VCs at the Startup Showcase as part of the festival.

The sweet spot is to be among the chosen 16 is an Australian-registered company with global ambitions, raising at least AU$500,000.
