More than 1000 students tried the program during beta mode testing. the program is open to anyone, from undergraduate to corporate career changer, anywhere in the world considering a life in startups.

The virtual internship allows users to complete real-world tasks and learn practical skills from three NSW startups: Vennu, a regional venue booking platform; Homecare Heroes, a social startup in aged and disability care; and Longtail UX,which automates search engine marketing and optimisation.

Sydney School of Entrepreneurship education and training director Jonathan Jones said student tasks are based around non-technical skills such as product management, social media marketing and sales for international expansion.

“The goal of the program is to help boost the pipeline of talent considering a career working with, or starting their own startup,” he said.
