South Australia is set for its biggest startup event to date with the SouthStart conference and expo announcing its 2015 lineup, featuring Stephen Baxter of Shank Tank Investors and Gen George of OneShift.
To be held on February 4-5 at the Adelaide Convention Centre, the conference has booked over 50 exhibitors and speakers.
Majoran Distillery director and SouthStart founder Chhai Thach said the event will highlight promising startups in the South Australian scene. It will feature a startup pitching competition, offering the winner advice and $20 000 cash.
Organisers expect big things for SouthStart this year; the event first ran in 2013, and pre-registrations for the 2015 event have already exceeded 2013 numbers, with approximately 600 people expected to attend.
There will be showcase and networking opportunities aplenty, of course, while attendees will also hear talks on how to build a two-sided marketplace, how to hack a seed round, and how startups can help corporates innovate.
