Australian startups are about to battle it out for up to $5,000,000 funding at The BIG Pitch event, to be judged in Melbourne in June.
As far as the Australian startup ecosystem is concerned, the next two months are going to be full of opportunity to pitch your ideas and startups to Oxygen Ventures who are offering up to $5,000,000 and on-demand Oxygen Ventures resources for the winner of its The Big Pitch competition. The Melbourne-based investment fund is putting out the call to all digital startups and small businesses wanting to scale and are offering funding, mentoring and operational support.
An expert judging panel will be present on the night including founder of Dodo Larry Kestleman, BlueChilli founder Sebastian Eckersley-Maslin, Ten Network Director and CEO of George Patterson Y & R, Russel Howcroft and Oxygen Ventures Ilya Frolov. It’s a formidable line-up with a wealth of experience at the coalface of Australian business., the startup pitch that stands out for their presentation, innovation and business model will be voted on the night.
“It’s an exciting time for startups. We’re seeing a wealth of talent and business models emerging and what they’re begging for is an opportunity to secure not only funding but also operational resources to grow their businesses,” says Frolov.
A shortlist of five finalists will be selected in June to pitch live for access to the funding pool and the hands-on business smarts of the Oxygen Ventures team. In addition, mentoring will be provided by entrepreneur Larry Kestelman and his team, providing insights from his own brand of business know-how in a unique opportunity for founders.

Oxygen Ventures is seeking globally scalable, innovative technology startups at the pre-commercialised or newly-launched phase, and who are primed to disrupt their industry. Having built dozens of brands from the ground up, this unconventional investment firm is looking for a partnership with the winning entries, to be a part of building a global business.
