Startup funnies: Best on the web

- January 17, 2014 2 MIN READ

When the going gets tough, you may as well laugh. Besides, seeing the humour in a situation can put you in a better mind space to continue in your endeavours. We’ve done some investigating and found the best sites to get your Friday dose of startup humour.

If you haven’t discovered Vooza yet, get onto it immediately! Every week, the Vooza gang posts a new video that parodies the startup culture with aplomb. Founders, capital raising, acquisitions – there isn’t anything that hasn’t been spoofed with light-hearted intent.

This blog is full of cartoons that make brilliant points about what it’s like to be an entrepreneur or a wantie.

Startup Rage

It’s not uncommon to lose your temper at the smallest things when you’re trying to get your startup off the ground and there are stupid obstacles in the way. This site features some great comics based on real world occurrences.

The front page of WorthZero reads, “What do you mean my awesome, game changing, paradigm shifting is WORTH ZERO!” This site offers stick figure comics that parodies the whole ‘capital raising’ and ‘pitching to an investor’ process. It’s sure to put a smile on your dial.

This ‘Lean Startup Blog’ points out some of the stupidity that inhabits the startup world. The author Tristan Kromer pokes, prods, and questions startups. He’s basically a well-intentioned troll that makes compelling points. For instance, in his article Taxonomy of the Lean Startup Anti-Pivot, he described the different types of pivots, and how it’s become a bit of a silly buzzword that’s lost its initial meaning: adapting to customer feedback.

Hope you enjoy this compilation, so you can see the humour in your startup journey. If you know of other sites that are fun to visit, don’t forget to share them in the comments section below.
