Just on Monday, social enterprise ThankYou announced Coles’ agreement to stock their product range which will help feed people living in poverty. The good news gets better, with Woolworths also on board with the cause.
The meeting between Woolworths and ThankYou took place on Tuesday, and the retail giant delivered its decision in just three hours – even quicker than Coles (five hours).
“The meeting with Woolworths went really well. We definitely weren’t expecting an answer so soon. This whole week has been a little surreal, and Woolworths telling us they’re in just tops it all off. It’s unbelievable!” says Co-Founder and Managing Director of ThankYou, Daniel Flynn.
By making the ThankYou range available to the 19.5 million customers that pass through Woolies every week, the enterprise we will be able to make a significant difference in countries throughout Asia and Africa, where people in need of safe drinking water, food and hygiene education are struggling.
“We’re feeling really humbled that so many people have got behind us over the past couple of weeks and have really championed the brand for us,” says Flynn.
“They really seem to understand and appreciate the difference our products are making to the lives of people less fortunate than themselves. It’s a testament to the giving and caring nature of Australians.”
Woolworths agrees that ThankYou deserves an opportunity to bring its inspirational story to its Australian customers, and looks forward to having their product range on their shelves in six weeks.
