Hosted by the Suzhou government and supported by the Australian Chinese Business Council, Think Global Consulting, SME Association of Australia as well as the Chinese Students Associations of Sydney University, UTS and Macquaries uni, the Suzhou Startup Competition will take place in Sydney on October 26th of this year.
The competition is geared towards startups that are wanting to do business with or within China. Organisers of the competition are particularly interested in seeing startups working on projects in the spaces of: renewable energy, materials, nanotechnology, software development, services based businesses, financial technologies, cultural innovation and creative media, however the competition is open to all industries and sectors.
The competition will take place at the Four Points by Sheraton Sydney and 1st place will receive $8,000 with 2nd place getting $4000 – other prizes also include the opportunity the chance to receive funding support from the Suzhou Government including up to 5 million Chinese Yuan in capital. There are also opportunities for entrants to be mentored by experienced entrepreneurs in the Asia / Australian startup scene.
