Manly Emporium: Snazzy new hub for tech entrepreneurs

- August 20, 2013 2 MIN READ

In the heart of NSW’s Northern Beaches, a snazzy new co-working space is being launched for fast-growing technology and web companies to get their creativity flowing.

While Manly has long been a popular tourist destination, web and technology entrepreneurs are quickly embracing the space for its stunning coastal views – the perfect environment to drive creativity.

The new hub couldn’t come at a better time. For those who want a stylish and flexible co-working space and a beachside lifestyle, Manly Emporium is a great option.

Manly Emporium Co-Founders Darren Younger and Luke Bridges identified a need for a large collaborative co-working space in the heart of Manly and secured a lease for the entire second floor of the historic Manly Emporium building – used previously for many years as a pool hall.

“It was a perfect opportunity to create a large co-working space when it became available,” says Younger who is the Chief Innovation Officer at IPScape and has recently secured international contracts with British Telecom.

“We made extensive renovations and are really happy with the result.”

Located at 6 The Corso, the floor has undergone an impressive transformation. Renovators have restored the building’s iconic multi-paned and curved windows, while accentuating the original brickwork, timber beams, and polished hardwood floors.

Bridges, who has a corporate background as an accountant and has run his own bricks and mortar retail business for many years, says Manly Emporium is “a chance to create new opportunities, close to home, and with some really clever people”.

The co-working space offers desks, meeting rooms, boardrooms, high-speed internet which can be hired under a casual or month to month contract, allowing entrepreneurs to choose from a number of flexible plans and the option to scale their business as fast as they need to.

The Manly Emporium will officially launch on 22 August 2013. Entry is free and tickets can be booked at Manly Emporium website www.manlyemporium.com.au.
