Cloud and SAAS based Business. Is it eating away “traditional jobs”

Web apps are eating traditional professional services, some predict that by 2015, low-cost cloud services will cannibalise up to 15% of outsourcing players’ revenue.

Employment Innovations (EI) in Sydney is a major outsourced player in the legal payroll and HR field – so to avoid being eaten, they took action. EI built their own cloud platform and transformed its huge knowledge base into a range of products and applications, it’s called Employment Hero. What does it provide? A virtual HR and legal team for small businesses, allowing them to manage employment without the stress.

“Now our hourly billing has been adapted into per user subscriptions and we have turned the traditional legal practice methods on their head. Cloud platforms make expert advice and support affordable to everyone, including the little guy. There are over 2 million small businesses in Australia, who is supporting them? (We are)” says Ben Thompson.

Ben Thompson, Employment Hero’s founder says, “We want to give Australia’s small businesses the ultimate employment management platform without all the overheads. We think we can help small businesses grow by removing the headaches and anxiety associated with being an employer.”

It is going to be interesting to see how traditional HR // Legal // Marketing etc firms that have been running the same way for years begin to “pivot” and start to produce a boxed offering for Australia’s largest sector [small business] I wouldn’t say there is a dominant player in any of these markets just yet, but looking at the advertising push currently being executed by Employment Hero at the moment, they are moving to the front of the line pretty damn fast.
