If you are not familiar with the name Catherine Eibner than you are not spending enough time hanging out with others in the Aussie startup scene. Eibner who has been leading the Microsoft Bizspark program in Australia for years has recently left the company, and in a move that further cements the goal of Blue Chilli to be the leading Australian incubator joined their team as the Lead Startup Advisor.
As Lead Startup Advisor, Catherine’s primary role will be to assist BlueChilli investments in growth, connections, networking, structure and marketing, through the BlueChilli gated growth process.
“Catherine brings a wealth of experience and connections which is integral to our ongoing commitment to growing the Australian startup ecosystem and achieving our own ambitious growth plans.” said Sebastien Eckersley-Maslin, founder of Blue Chilli.
This does not mean the end of Bluechilli working with the team at Microsoft however, given that they were the first company this year to partner with the Bizspark Plus program, we should expect to see the relationship remain strong as many companies within the group continue to use Microsoft technologies. In fact managing the relationship and connection between Bluechilli and Microsoft will be a key aspect of Catherine’s role.
“I have always been impressed by the entire team at Blue Chilli, their passion and energy for not just creating new businesses, but for empowering entrepreneurs to take their ideas to scalable successful businesses,” said Catherine Eibner, Lead Startup Advisor, BlueChilli. “I am really excited about becoming an integral part of their team.”
We are really looking forward to the new things to come out of Blue Chilli over the next year and are excited to see the enhancements Eibner will bring to the teams there.
