The worst thing about starting up is the whole “financial” side of things – I don’t mean making money … hell no! We LOVE making money, I am talking about all that other crap like BAS statements, taxes, blah blah AHHHH.
There is nothing worse than getting to the end of the quarter and realising that you do not have your financial house in order. To be honest whilst we are still operating the business in a very lean way, a book keeper is a luxury that we do not have at the moment and so the administration side of things here currently is under my Job Description.
I don’t like it, but I need to do it as understanding the numbers inside and out is critical whilst I am sitting in the drivers seat. Along the way to help me out though, I have found some great services to get me through it quickly, and I have just moved to a process where I am doing my financial admin daily so there is not a mountain of work to do at the end of the month.
