How do you name a Product or Company?

Let me ask you a question…

What do these names have in common…

Dunkin Donuts

Marilyn Monroe

Krispy Kremes

Dixie Chicks

Ozzy Osborne

… well, firstly they are some of the world‘s most recognised brand names.

And secondly, they all have a certain ring to them, don‘t they?

Can you recognise what it is? Let me give you a hint.

They have the double letter edge. For example…

Black Berry – both words start with the letter ―B‖. Same with Krispy Kremes, Ossie Osborne, Marilyn Monroe, Coca-Cola, etc.

As for the others:

Google – the beginning of it sounds the same if you turn it backwards. Same with Toyota.

Keeping in mind that many of the world‘s most memorable names have this in common, what does this tell you about the way you should name your own company.

For instance, if you run a mortgage company, perhaps you should use something like…

Mortgage Munchers

… instead of The Mortgage Experts.

Has more of a memorable ring to it, doesn‘t it?
