Women in Tech II – More Women need to Study Computer Science

- July 9, 2012 < 1 MIN READ

In our second post inspired by the American Initiative Makers by AOL – We continue to look at tech and the need for Women to get into the field and study it. Trends show that as we head more and more into a digital age the future CEO’s and leaders will need to possess skills in computer science and similar fields. The media portray these careers and study paths as something typically male and indirectly influencing the culture around the space whether they mean to do so or not.

As we head towards the Digital and Mobile Age – Are we regressing?

Shoe String will be launching their new “Women through the iPhone series” where we will take a look at women in Australia’s startup, education, small business and tech spaces. We will be looking at what the culture and beliefs are right now, what is happening to change it and what the future will look like if these changes are unsucessful.

If you are interested in taking part in this opportunity please email us at mbeeche@shoestring.com.au with a little bit about you and your area of expertise. We are looking to interview a broad range of perspectives from known and unknown Women around Australia.
