I recently got the chance to go along to the AusMumpreneur event held here in Melbourne, hosted by Connect2Mums.

The Connect2Mums community is growing daily across the country, as is the support they are able to provide to mothers thinking about taking the plunge and starting their own business.

I was able to catchup after the event with the two lovely ladies behind this growing movement, Peace Mitchell and Katy Garner to talk further about the importance of having a network like Connect2Mums and what the future holds.

Over the last few years, these two ‘Power Mums’ have built Australia’s largest community of mothers in business and “with over 75% of mothers confessing that they have considered starting their own business”, their future is one that will only continue to grow. Both Peace and Katy  have very big and ambitious plans for the future, however I don’t doubt that they will not be able to achieve everything they set out to…and then some!

On the 8th of September this year the Connect2Mums network are hosting the glamorous AusMumpreneur Awards event in Sydney that will award and recognise the best and brightest in the Mumpreneur Community.

Last year’s AusMumpreneur of the Year, Anita Lincolne-Lomax from Babes in Arms, has been featured in national media including Sunrise, Cosmopolitan baby magazine and Jetstar since winning this award.

If you’re a mother in business, or just considering looking into starting something of your own, do yourself a favour and checkout Connect2Mums and the incredible support network they have created.

Peas out.
