TidePool is a startup that aims to determine a users personality from photos. Tidepool uses a unique set of images to uncover personality and other psychological characteristics from photos. To begin your assessment on Tidepool, you are presented a number of photos. You are asked to rank photos by which ones you like best. You are also asked to pick between two images that you like, choose different interests (based on pictures) etc.
Kabir Sagoo is the Founding CEO of TidePool. Following a preschool venture into experimental flight resulting in chipped teeth and a distrust of slides, Kabir sought out slightly gentler learning experiences at the University of Southern California, where he earned a B.A in Neuroscience with minors in Entrepreneurship and International Relations. His Scientific Founder is Dr Galen Buckwalter a Research Scientist at USC’s Institute for Creative Technologies, the Director of Research for the Headington Institute, an active Angel investor in the Los Angeles startup community and a committee member for the National Board of Medical Examiners.
The company is part of the LA based accelerator Amplify and although at the moment it only has a test and results style function, further development could lead this technology to be used in future online advertising and matching personality traits for business. [Galen was also involved in the development of eHarmony]
There are currently 60 personality types to be had based on the image choices. You can test yourself out for free now at the TidePool website.
