In what I would have to say is one of the best launches this year, DollarShaveClub.com burst onto the scene today in spectacular fashion – so much so that it seems their website was unable to handle the traffic that was generated from their hilariously funny promo video.
The basic strategy behind DollarShaveClub.com which is part of LA startup Incubator Science – is to automatically send customers their monthly razors for only $1. Simple but genius – [I was literally just thinking this morning as I was shaving that I needed to go buy more razors tonight, and what a royal pain in the ass that was going to be]
There are three different types of razors available that range in pricing from $1 to $9 per month – saving you a hell of a lot of money, especially if fancy and brand name are not things you look for when buying toiletries.
And are the razors any good? According to founder Michael Dubin – They are F**Ckin’ Awesome!
Dubin recently closed a million dollars in funding for his venture from VCs including Andreesen Horowitz and Kleiner Perkins.
I would love to see this type of business happening in Australia. Would you?
