Once a digital radio station, Angela Vithoulkas decided to reposition the Eagle Waves Radio brand as a podcast production platform and distribution partner.
More than a year on, the group has grown to over 24,000 members scattered around the world, with women living everywhere from London to Cambodia.
Jane Lu was part of a stunt, created by a joint partnership between Samsung and Questacon to close the growing STEM gap in Australia.
While we know Showpo for its millennial fashion and social media presence, Lu has been working behind the scenes on something that is sure to turn heads.
There is no doubt that there are numerous obstacles facing women in tech and the wider business sphere, but the champagne breakfast events held by Like Minded Bitches Drinking Wine in Sydney and Melbourne for International Women’s Day were a celebration of what the group’s members have achieved despite the barriers.
Showpo’s Jane Lu and OneShift’s Gen George are a part of and love many of those groups, but decided to launch one that was more their style late last year. That Startup Show celebrated its Sydney launch last Friday with a popcorn-fuelled soiree hosted by BlueChilli. This was unlike any other industry event I have been to in the last year – there was no pitching, no sponsors to over-thank, no Powerpoint slides. Everyone was there to have a good time. And a good time we had!
Jane Lu is a name that everyone should start getting familiar with, I would argue that she is fast becoming one of the most influential voices for young females in Australia, commanding a social audience of over 100,000 people with her brand and business Show Pony Fashion.
