Startup: Sorella and Me

Sisters, Anna and Alisha knew something had to be done when shopping for maternity sleepwear during Alisha’s second pregnancy. “The limited choices were Nana tent nightie to make me look larger than I already felt, or the opposite extreme of sexy raunchy slips no thanks!”

Sourcing beautiful organic and fair trade cotton the sorella & me {sorella /Italian/ noun sister} range is designed for comfort, nursing and style throughout pregnancy, in hospital and afterwards at home. The designs and colours are modern and beautiful and each piece includes all the necessary features pregnant and new mums need to transition into the wonderful world of motherhood.

” I didnít realize I would live in my PJs so much or that I needed a perfect item to sleep comfortably in while pregnant and after the  birth to also easily feed my baby.  I am thrilled to be able to provide women with a choice of styles that will not only make life easier with all the features mothers need, but also encourage a positive sense of self which is so important in this time of great change.”

The label has already sparked great interest due to its beautiful organic and fair trade cotton.”We use amazingly soft fabric free from the toxic chemicals used in conventional cotton that can irritate the sensitive skin of you and your newborn.  And there is a double benefit ñ by choosing certified organic cotton, we are also supporting safe working conditions for farmers who would normally be exposed to high levels of pesticides commonly used in conventional cotton farming. This is something we are very proud of.”

Australian made, sorella & me believe there is no need to compromise on comfort and style during pregnancy and motherhood. The sisters are looking forward to sharing their range with many eagerly awaiting women who have been desperately searching for the comfort and function they need in maternity sleep and lounge wear.
