Eco – Party Box: A country startup.

South Australian Mumpreneur and mother of three Tina Hart was having a difficult time sourcing eco party supplies for her son’s 1st birthday.

After trying in vain to source the most earth friendly options for all the party supplies she wanted the idea was suddenly born – “why not create a box full of eco party supplies so Mum’s like me can give their child a really special and natural birthday party“.

Almost a year to the day Tina’s vision became a reality and the Eco Party Box – a box full of compostable party supplies sourced from eco friendly and ethical sources – is now available to everyone wanting an eco friendly party.

“Eco Party Box has its heart set in doing the best thing possible for the planet, its people and for future generations while also being affordable, convenient and time saving,” says Tina.

“I couldn’t understand why it was so hard to find eco friendly invitations, tableware, decorations and party favours. I spent a lot of time trawling the internet but most of the options I was able to find were only available only overseas and I felt it would defeat the purpose of buying eco friendly just to get it shipped halfway across the globe. Plus I needed it quickly.”

While there are many businesses in Australia which sell themed party supplies in boxes Tina says the Eco Party Box is the first and only party box devoted solely to eco friendly and compostable party supplies.

“Our products give you a real feel for nature,” adds Tina.

“The great thing is they look great, smell and feel great and once they are used they can be placed in the compost to help grow your own garden. We like the idea that you are essentially inviting nature to your party.

“Creating our Eco Party Boxes has required gathering our products from the most ethcial sources while making sure they are as eco friendly as possible. That’s from the enviro sellotape used in packaging through to the solar panels used to power the computer which takes the orders.

“We also strive to be as transparent as possible too – so that our customers know that their purchases are made in full awareness of the decisions that we have made to make the planet more self-sustainable.“

Tina, a qualified naturopath, and her husband Jonathan, an award-winning journalist, run their eco party supplies business from home. It should also be noted that the town Willunga in which they live and operate out of is the second on the mainland to get the NBN, they hope that this will help them immensely in growing this online startup.
