According to founder Pamela Shorland-Runge – “Slipper Love” is the experience women have when their obsession for shoes ventures one step further and they ‘slip’ on the divine masterpieces individually and lovingly hand made by Miss Pussycat’s Slippers.
In her desire to honour the Goddess within every woman, Pamela Shorland-Runge (otherwise known as Miss Pussycat) creates these exquisite, stylish, quality, beautifully embroidered and beaded limited edition silk slippers, offering you such ‘heaven-sent’ comfort, that once you put them on, you will never want to take them off!
Originally they were designed for women at home or working from home, to be so beautiful that there was no need to resort to more “presentable’ footwear when either a visitor/client came to the door/office or ‘the girls came to lunch’.
Now however, even corporate high-fliers once restricted to back-breaking, foot-sore stilettos are kicking them off in favour of Miss Pussycat’s Slippers. In combination with their stylish appeal and ‘cloud-like ‘comfort, their lightweight compactness make them incredibly versatile – tucked into your handbag or suitcase, they can be worn from the bathroom, to boardroom or ballet. After all Cinderella wore her slippers to the ball didn’t she?
Miss Pussycats Slippers are made from almost entirely natural fibres including luxurious pure silk, cotton lining, cotton or wool wadding, cushioning rubber and supple non-slip leather soles. Her collection includes Winter Ballets, Winter and Summer Mules and (still in the conceptual stage) Summer Slides. Careful consideration to design, cut and choice of lightweight materials has resulted in slippers that ‘fit like a glove’, offering you ‘out of this world’ comfort and walking ease.
Miss Pussycat draws on her considerable experience as a lecturer in textiles and garment constru ction at Melbourne University, colour matcher to the textile industry, manager for a national retail fabric outlet, and teacher for the Bernina sewing machine company, to create her “wearable art for the feet”.
She eats, sleeps and breathes colour, design and embroidery and is forever inspired… it is her passion and makes her heart, and desirably other women’s heart’s, sing too! She believes that most women subscribe to the ‘burnt toast’ theory – denying themselves for the sake of others – and so has created her slippers as a gift to all women in recognition of their unique individual beauty and contribution to our (collective) lives and world. “Each time you slip them on, you will connect with the Beautiful Goddess within you, and feel truly wonderful about who you really are”.
Miss Pussycat hopes to be ‘under your feet’ very soon, and encourages you to enjoy some light reading or even shopping on her ‘work in progress’ website.
